Suspicious package ‘just a lunchbox,’ bomb squad finds
A bomb squad was dispatched to Prosper High School overnight after someone threw a suspicious package at the building, but it turned out to be a lunchbox.
A custodian saw a person run up to the front of the school and toss the object at the front door before running off about 11:45 p.m. Wednesday, according to a Prosper ISD statement.
The custodian reported it to Prosper police, who dispatched the bomb squad as a precaution.
The Plano bomb squad truck arrived about 2 a.m. Investigators quickly discovered the package “was just a lunchbox,” Prosper ISD said.
By about 2:45 a.m., the sheriff ’s office had opened the road again and the scene was cleared by 3 a.m.
