Mavs become hurricane heroes
Add Dallas Mavericks point guard J. J. Barea and owner Mark Cuban to the list of heroes who have come to the rescue of victims of recent hurricanes. With the team’s blessing, Barea was given the use of the team’s private plane to haul supplies to his native Puerto Rico after it was rocked by hurricanes Irma and Maria. He helped distribute water, generators, food and other necessities. What’s more, Barea had raised nearly $150,000 earlier this week to help with the relief efforts. Kudos to the Mavs for using their celebrity and resources for good.
