UT Dallas appoints new education dean
Dr. Jessica C. Murphy, associate professor of literary studies at the University of Texas at Dallas, was appointed dean of Undergraduate Education effective Sept. 1. She also serves as co-director of the Quality Enhancement Plan, a UT Dallas initiative aimed at boosting first-year students’ engagement and academic success.
A first-generation college student, Murphy received a bachelor’s degree from Hunter College in New York. She started teaching at UT Dallas in 2009 after earning a doctorate at the University of California Santa Barbara.
