ROCKWALL — Jaxon Smith-njigba caught three touchdown passes and ran for a fourth as Rockwall pulled away in the second half for a 49-34 win over Arlington Bowie on Thursday at Wilkerson-sanders Stadium.
Jacob Clark passed for 369 yards and four touchdowns, including a 64-yarder to Smith-njigba that gave Rockwall (1-1) the lead for good in the third quarter.
Malcolm Mays passed for 470 yards and four touchdowns, including an 80-yarder to Zaliek Freeman to tie the score at 21-all just 38 seconds before the half.
Clark connected with Smith-njigba for touchdowns from 36 and 21 yards, and Smith-njigba added an 8-yard touchdown run as Rockwall built a 21-7 lead.
Mays helped Bowie cut the lead to 21-14 with a 6-yard scoring pass to Montez President then found Freeman for the tying score after Logan Claborn’s 59-yard punt had forced Bowie back to its own 20.
