Cougars grab AAC lead with eighth win in a row; OU women fall

HOUS­TON — De­jon Jar­reau scored 14 of his 16 points in the sec­ond half, Corey Davis Jr. also had 16 and No. 12 Hous­ton held off No. 25 Cincin­nati 65­58 on Sun­day.

Galen Robin­son Jr. had 10 points for Hous­ton (23­1, 10­1 AAC), which won its eighth straight and ex­tended its home win­ning streak to 32 games. Hous­ton shot 49 per­cent from the field. Jar­ron Cum­ber­land scored 27 points on 9­of­25 shoot­ing, and Cane Broome added 10 points for Cincin­nati (20­4, 9­2). No. 20 Iowa 80, North­west­ern 79: In Iowa City, Iowa, Jor­dan Bo­han­non hit a 3pointer from 23 feet with three­tenths of a sec­ond re­main­ing and Iowa (19­5, 8­5 Big Ten) ral­lied from a 13point deficit to win its third straight.

Women

Kansas State 83, Ok­la­homa 75: In Nor­man, Okla., sopho­more guard Ana Llanusa scored 33 points, but Kansas State knocked down 14 3point­ers.

K­state’s (15­9, 6­6 Big 12) 14 3­point­ers set a Lloyd No­ble Cen­ter record for an op­po­nent. Llanusa fin­ished two shy of match­ing her ca­reer high for the Soon­ers (5­17, 110).

No. 2 Louisville 72, Virg­nia Tech 63: In Blacksburg, Va., Asia Durr scored 34 points and Louisville (23­1, 10­1) over­came a near­col­lapse to win its ninth in a row.

No. 3 Ore­gon 88, No. 11 Stan­ford 48: In Stan­ford, Calif., Sab­rina Ionescu had 27 points, nine re­bounds and eight as­sists, and Ore­gon (23­1, 12­0) ran its Ncaa­best win­ning streak to 16 games.

No. 4 Notre Dame 97, No. 24 Florida State 70: In South Bend, Ind., Arike Ogun­bowale scored 27 points as Notre Dame (21­3, 9­2) got its tran­si­tion game go­ing to hand Florida State (20­4, 8­3) its first road loss.

UCLA 100, No. 17 Utah 90: In Salt Lake City, Michaela Onyen­were scored 25 points for the sopho­more’s 11th 20­plus game of the sea­son for UCLA (15­9, 8­4).

No. 25 Mi­ami 65, Pitts­burgh 51: In Pitts­burgh, Beatrice Mom­premier scored 23 points with 13 re­bounds for Mi­ami (21­5, 9­2).
