MAY DAY FES­TI­VAL IS AN AN­NUAL MYS­TIC TRA­DI­TION

For more than two decades, the Greater Mys­tic Cham­ber of Com­merce has helped usher in an an­nual rite of pas­sage in the re­gion— the May Day Fes­ti­val. Al­though some of the de­tails are still be­ing fi­nal­ized, or­ga­niz­ers say vis­i­tors can once again ex­pect a fun day filled with chil­dren’s ac­tiv­i­ties.

Held the first Satur­day in the month, the fes­ti­val kicks off with a tra­di­tional dance around the May Pole by the Mys­tic Gar­land Dancers. The kid-friendly day also fea­tures sand art, arts and crafts, face paint­ing and donut dec­o­rat­ing.
