From early June through the end of Au­gust, Fri­day nights at Ocean House are the scene of the pop­u­lar Lob­ster Boils & BBQs. This spe­cial event in­cludes live mu­sic and pro­vides a true New Eng­land ex­pe­ri­ence. Event runs 6 to 9 p.m. on the pri­vate beach. Cost, plus tax and gra­tu­ity, is $110 per adult; $55 for child ages 4-12; with chil­dren younger than 3 ad­mit­ted free.

July 1 through Au­gust 28 fea­tures an Artist-in-Res­i­dence pro­gram every week­end, draw­ing on lo­cal tal­ent. Artists share their work, give demon­stra­tions or lec­tures, and ply their art in a spec­tac­u­lar sen­so­rial set­ting. Each Fri­day night, vis­i­tors are in­vited to a com­pli­men­tary re­cep­tion from 5 to 6 p.m. hon­or­ing the week­end’s guest artist.

Sum­mer’s sig­na­ture event—the In­de­pen­dence Day Beach Ball—takes place on July 3 with an all-out cel­e­bra­tion. Dress up in red, white, and blue to dance, dine, and en­joy daz­zling fire­works over the ocean. Feast on fresh seafood, grilled clas­sics, and de­light­ful desserts.
