GRISWOLD MAN, 43, CHARGED IN ASSAULT

Griswold — A 43-year-old Griswold man was arrested on Monday in connection with an alleged assault.

Todd Burnette, of 100 Ashland St., Apt. C, Griswold, was charged with second-degree assault, disorderly conduct, risk of injury to a minor and failure to comply with a request for fingerprin­ts, according to a news release.

Police said they were dispatched at 6:24 p.m. on Monday to a disturbanc­e on Ashland Street and found that Burnette allegedly had “assaulted a female victim by dumping paint on her, striking her and cutting her with a utility knife,” the release said.

Burnette was arrested at 7:23 p.m. and brought to the state police barracks, but could not be booked due to his conduct, the release said.

He was due to appear in Norwich Superior Court on Tuesday.

Bond was set by the police troop supervisor at $100,000.
