Catala and McLaughlin for better NL schools

The Day - - OPINION -

I attended the board meeting on Aug. 24. I observed the Board of Education in action. I saw a board appoint an interim superintendent. I was very surprised at how well Jason Catala spoke and got his points across on this issue. He made his points clear. I have always voted for Jason. He cares for our children. He cares for our city’s youth.

That is important. Jason Catala is very active in his parish Saint Joseph and is a great father who works as a magnet coach and can also be found working at the Covenant Shelter on weekends. I will be voting for Jason again this year, as well as Mike McLaughlin.

Mike has been a staple in New London for a long time. He has volunteered in schools and is a true New London guy. He understands what needs to be done on the school board and will work with Catala on getting the facts out as well as demand transparency in how the district spends money.

We must vote for candidates like McLaughlin and Catala. They will make the necessary changes the New London Public Schools are in dire need of. I can’t wait to cast my vote for these two gentlemen. Gina Debona Carter New London
