NOR­WICH PO­LICE TO CON­DUCT DUI CHECK­POINT ON LA­BOR DAY

Nor­wich — Po­lice will con­duct a DUI so­bri­ety en­force­ment check­point from 6 p.m. Mon­day through 2 a.m. Tuesday, the close of the La­bor Day hol­i­day week­end.

In ad­di­tion to the check­point, Nor­wich po­lice will be ag­gres­sively con­duct­ing traf­fic en­force­ment con­sist­ing of DUI pa­trols and reg­u­lar traf­fic en­force­ment. These en­force­ment ef­forts will be con­ducted through­out the city be­fore and dur­ing the La­bor Day hol­i­day pe­riod.

“All of the mem­bers of the Nor­wich Po­lice Depart­ment wish to ex­tend a happy and safe hol­i­day week­end to all and are re­mind­ing the mo­tor­ing public to buckle up and not to drive af­ter drink­ing,” po­lice Chief Pa­trick Da­ley said in a news re­lease an­nounc­ing the pa­trols. “If you drink please re­mem­ber to use public trans­porta­tion or use a des­ig­nated driver.”
