The Day

R&B times three

- — Kristina Dorsey

A concert by R&B songstress Monica? Great. That’s enough for me.

But wait. You’re adding in Keyshia Cole, another R&B diva? Get out of town!

Say that again — that’s not all? The show also boasts Faith Evans, a primo R&B vocalist? Come on!

Yes, indeedy, that trio of extraordinary performers is joining forces and will give a show Friday at Foxwoods’ Grand Theater. The concert is not bashfully titled “First Ladies of R&B.”

And the set list promises to be amazing. You figure that Monica has such successes as “Everything to Me,” “Don’t Take It Personal (Just One of Dem Days)” and, of course, “The Boy Is Mine” with Brandy, which spent 13 weeks at the top of the Billboard charts.

Keyshia Cole’s songs include “Heaven Sent” and “I Remember” and collaborations like “Let It Go” with Lil’ Kim and Missy Elliott and “Trust” with Monica — so, yes, you can bet the two of them will do that one at Foxwoods.

And speaking of collaborations, Faith Evans had a major hit with “I’ll Be Missing You” (in memory of Evans’ husband, The Notorious B.I.G.) with Puff Daddy and 112, and “All Night Long” with Puff Daddy, too. She hasn’t done too shabby on her own, either, with “Love Like This” and lots more. “First Ladies of R&B: Monica, Keyshia Cole & Faith Evans,” 8 p.m. Friday, Foxwoods’ Grand Theater; $75-$158; 1-800-200-2882.
