Vin­cent Fal­coni

Water­ford — Vin­cent E. Fal­coni, 92, of Quaker Hill, en­tered eter­nal life on Wed­nes­day, Nov. 7, 2018, at his home in the com­pany of his lov­ing wife, Joan (DeMarco) Fal­coni.

He was born Sept. 10, 1926, in New London, the son of the late Emilio and Rose (Ful­ton) Fal­coni. Mr. Fal­coni was raised in Gro­ton, at­tended lo­cal schools and grad­u­ated from Fitch Se­nior High School. He was an Army vet­eran of World War II and was hon­or­ably dis­charged. He later grad­u­ated from Bos­ton Univer­sity in 1951 with a bach­e­lor’s de­gree in ed­u­ca­tion. He was united in mar­riage to the for­mer Joan (DeMarco) Fal­coni on July 31, 1971. Mrs. Fal­coni sur­vives him.

Mr. Fal­coni was em­ployed for 25 years for the State of CT as a cor­rec­tional coun­cilor re­tir­ing in 1976. He later worked as a sub­sti­tute teacher at Water­ford and Montville High Schools and Nor­wich Tech.

He is sur­vived by a son, Richard Gaines and his wife, Me­lanie, of Un­casville; and a grand­son, Robert Gaines.

He was pre­de­ceased by two sib­lings, Arthur Fal­coni and Ester Trow­bridge.

His fam­ily will re­ceive rel­a­tives and friends from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Tues­day at the Im­pel­lit­teri-Malia Fu­neral Home, 84 Mon­tauk Ave., New London, fol­lowed by a Mass of Chris­tian Burial at noon in St. Joseph Church. In­ter­ment in St. Mary Ceme­tery with mil­i­tary honors.
