Water­ford — Bar­bara B. Heath, beloved mother, sis­ter, aunt, grand­mother and friend, passed peace­fully on Fri­day, Nov. 2, 2018, in New London with fam­ily by her side. She is now re­united with her lov­ing hus­band, Wayne E. Heath, by whom she was pre­de­ceased on Jan. 6, 2013.

She was born in Prov­i­dence, R.I., on Feb. 20, 1937, the old­est daugh­ter of Joseph and Jeanne Bren­nan of Daniel­son. She grad­u­ated from Killingly High School in 1956 and at­tended the Univer­sity of Con­necti­cut. Af­ter rais­ing her young chil­dren Bar­bara worked for many years at Water­ford Air­port, a job she loved and where she made many friends. She later se­cured a man­age­rial sec­re­tary po­si­tion at Elec­tric Boat in Gro­ton. Bar­bara was well re­spected at EB and rose through the sec­re­tar­ial ranks there un­til her re­tire­ment. She most en­joyed co­or­di­nat­ing col­lege in­ter­views for the Elec­tric Boat em­ploy­ment of­fice.

Bar­bara was very cre­ative. She was an avid fan of all fine arts. Bar­bara painted, sculpted, cross stitched and em­broi­dered many beau­ti­ful pieces of art. She played pi­ano, sang and acted for many years with the East Lyme Arts Coun­cil. Bar­bara was full of life and trav­eled ex­ten­sively with Wayne. They en­joyed many cruises to the Caribbean, many weeks at their time share in Aruba and “win­tered” many sea­sons in Red­ing­ton Shores, Fla., on the gulf. Bar­bara spent her last five years at Atria Cross­roads in Water­ford where she was very ac­tive, made many friends and was lov­ingly cared for.

She is pre­de­ceased by her brother, Paul and sur­vived by her sis­ter, Michelle Bryce of East Killingly. She leaves three chil­dren, Michael Tripp of Clin­ton, Scott Tripp of Water­ford and Karen Brousseau of West­erly; seven grand­chil­dren, Al­li­son, Jay, Keith, Au­drey, Cur­tis, Han­nah and Lizzie; as well as four great-grand­chil­dren.

A beloved fam­ily matriarch and friend to many, Bar­bara will be sadly missed.

Vis­i­ta­tion will be held begin­ning at 10 a.m. Satur­day, Dec. 15, at the Robin­son, Wright & Weymer Fu­neral Home, 34 Main St., Cen­ter­brook. A me­mo­rial ser­vice will fol­low at 11 a.m. in the Fu­neral Home Chapel.
