Mystic — Constance Ada Watrous, 86, of Mystic, passed away at her residence on Saturday morning, Nov. 10, 2018.
Constance was born on Sept. 25, 1932, in Ledyard, the daughter of Dudley E. and Martha (Prosser) Watrous.
She graduated from Robert E. Fitch Sr. High School in 1951 and Connecticut College for Women in 1955, where she majored in music and violin. She received her master’s degree from Columbia University School of Library Science in 1961 and received an advanced certificate in library science in 1975. She also attended Southern Connecticut State College for teacher certification.
Constance was the librarian at the Williams School in 1956 and the librarian/media specialist at Stonington High School from 1957 until retiring in 1992. She also was a life member of both the Connecticut Teachers’ Association and the National Education Association.
She spent a lifetime spreading God’s word and love to all. She was devoted to her family and had many hobbies including reading, music, handcrafts, knitting, crocheting, weaving, spinning and photography.
Constance is survived by her sister, Phebe Watrous of Mystic.
She was predeceased by her brother, Albert P. Watrous; and her sisters, Martha, Louise and Alice Watrous and Mildred Hall.
Funeral services and interment will be private.
