Psychoanalyst/author Hilary Jacobs Hendel gives talk in NL
A supper with Hilary Jacobs Hendel, author of “It’s Not Always Depression,” will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at Zachs Hillel House, Connecticut College, New London. This is a program of The Jewish Federation of Eastern Connecticut.
Jacobs Hendel is a certified psychoanalyst and AEDP (accelerated experiential dynamic psychotherapy) psychotherapist and supervisor.
She consulted on the psychological development of characters on AMC’s “Mad Men.” She has published articles in The New York Times and professional journals.
Her talk, which is scheduled to begin around 6:45 p.m., will touch on such issues as what emotions really are, what the difference is between thoughts and emotions, why anxiety and depression are not necessarily a flaw in chemistry, and how people can use emotions to enhance well being and to have better relationships. She’ll discuss a new wellness tool she has introduced to the publiccalled the Change Triangle.
People should RSVP for the supper, which is $20, by Thursday to firstname.lastname@example.org.
