Eagles interview Staley B

The Denver Post - - SPORTS -

philadelphia » The Eagles interviewed running backs coach Duce Staley for their vacant head coaching position created when Chip Kelly was fired last week.

Staley, 40, interviewed for the top job Friday. He played seven seasons for the Eagles from 1997-2003 and rushed for 1,000 yards three times.

Kelly was dismissed after going 6-9 this season.

• St. Louis rookie running back Todd Gurley missed his third straight practice because of a foot injury and probably will be held out of the Rams’ final regular-season game.

• General manager Dennis Hickey parted ways with the Miami Dolphins after only two seasons.

The Dolphins went 8-8 last season and are 5-10 this season, largely because of unproductive draft choices and other unsuccessful acquisitions by Hickey.
