lon­don » The heir to the heir to the heir to the Bri­tish throne has taken a big step up the ed­u­ca­tional lad­der.

Kens­ing­ton Palace said Prince Ge­orge started nurs­ery school Wed­nes­day, a mile­stone for the young fu­ture king.

PrinceWil­liam and his wife, Kate, marked the oc­ca­sion by re­leas­ing two pho­to­graphs of 2 ½ - year- old Ge­orge out­side the school build­ing.

Kate took the pho­tos, which show Ge­orge in a blue jacket with a back­pack.

It was only the lat­est batch of pho­to­graphs that Kate has taken of her two chil­dren, in­clud­ing Char­lotte, now 8 months old.

The royal couple— also known as the Duke and Duchess of Cam­bridge —had an­nounced he would be at­tend­ing West acre Montes­sori School in Nor­folk, which is 110 miles north of Lon­don.

The school is near the fam­ily home, An­mer Hall, in Nor­folk.

The school has said he will re­ceive the same treat­ment as other pupils.

“It all went well,” a source told re­porters.
