Den­ver’s road sweep of Ne­braska Omaha rates 100

omaha» Den­ver coach Jim Mont­gomery’s 100th ca­reer game was a suc­cess as the 17th-ranked Pi­o­neers de­feated No. 6 Ne­braska Omaha 4-3 on Satur­day night at Bax­ter Arena in a Na­tional Col­le­giate Hockey Con­fer­ence game.

“This was a great team win for us here tonight,” Mont­gomery said in a team re­lease. “Our up­per­class­men showed tremen­dous lead­er­ship all week­end long, and our young play­ers re­ally stepped up for us in both games.”

The win capped a se­ries sweep for the Pi­o­neers (9-7-4, 5-4-1). They won 3-0 on Fri­day night. It was their first sweep on the road in nearly three years.

Tan­ner Jail­let made 25 saves Satur­day, fol­low­ing up on his 35-save shutout Fri­day against Omaha (145-1, 4-5-1).

Fresh­man for­ward Dy­lan Gam­brell had the game-win­ning goal and added two as­sists.

Colorado Col­lege 5, St. Cloud

State 2 B st. cloud, minn.» The Tigers stunned No. 4 St. Cloud State, be­hind 47 saves by goalie Ja­cob Ne­hama.

The Tigers (5-17-0, 3-9-0 NCHA) were out­shot 49-22 in the game by SCSU (17-5-0, 9-3-0).

CC had goals by Sam Rothstein, Tan­ner Ockey, Teemu Kivi­halme, Hunter Fe­jes and Ben Is­rael.

Air Force 5, AIC 1 B air force academy» Erik Baskin scored two goals and added an as­sist as the Fal­cons (9-9-2, 7-5-2 At­lantic Hockey Con­fer­ence) cruised to the win over Amer­i­can In­ter­na­tional Col­lege.

Air Force out­shot AIC (5-16-1, 511-1) 42-14 in gain­ing its first sea­son sweep of the sea­son. Jor­dan Him­ley and Ben Kucera added the other goals, with Kucera also get­ting two as­sists.
