MAN KILLED BY POLICE IS ID’D
Denver police have released details in a west side officerinvolved shooting Monday that left a 32-year-old man dead, saying two members of the force are on leave as the department investigates the case.
The city’s medical examiners office identified the slain man as Ramone Lonergan, saying he died of multiple gunshot wounds and ruling his death a homicide.
Lonergan was initially taken to Denver Health Medical Center in critical condition before his death was announced by police Tuesday morning. The coroner says Lonergan died Monday just before 5 p.m.
Aurora police detectives are assisting with the investigation in accordance with new state protocols for investigating officer-involved shootings, police said.
