The Denver Post - - NEWS - By Jesse Paul

Pitkin County authorities have interviewed a skier accused of pushing a snowboarder off a chairlift Sunday at Aspen Highlands but say he has not been charged with any crime.

“This case remains an open and active investigation and as such not all information regarding the incident will be made available,” the county sheriff ’s office said in a Thursday news release.

Investigators assured the public there is no ongoing safety threat.

Seth Beckton’s story has gone viral since he posted on Facebook about being pushed from the ski area’s Loge Peak chairlift after he made a seemingly innocuous comment to the skier about a plethora of fresh snow.

Authorities have not released the name of the Aspen-area skier suspected in the encounter. He was identified after investigators reviewed surveillance camera recordings at Aspen Highlands and through Beckton’s account.
