Missing the point on Clinton

The Denver Post - - OPINION -

Re: “Stop politicizing Benghazi,” Jan. 24 letter to the editor.

Letter-writer Jo Ann York, a retired foreign service officer, misses the point of all the criticism directed towards Hillary Clinton regarding Benghazi.

She is probably correct that the tragedy “could have happened at any time under any secretary of state.” But only a small minority are blaming Clinton for causing Benghazi— she is mostly being attacked for her actions after the event.

It is her prolonged false statements about the cause, the comments when testifying before Congress (“What difference does it make?”), and most of all her indifference and the embarrassing comments she made to the relatives of the fallen. It appears her only interest is to convince everyone that “It’s not my fault.”
