MONAHAN GETS FLAMES’ WINNER IN SHOOTOUT
calgary, alberta» Sean Monahan scored the shootout winner in the Flames’ 3-2 victory over the Wild on Friday.
Monahan waited out Devan Dubnyk before snapping a shot over the goalie’s right pad. Calgary’s Chad Johnson then stopped Charlie Coyle’s attempt at the other end to seal the victory.
Joe Pavelski had a goal and one assist in the Sharks’ 2-1 victory over the Canadiens. Brent Burns gave San Jose a 1-0 lead with a first-period power-play goal and Pavelski scored his eighth of the season near the end of the period. Artturi Lehkonen scored Montreal’s lone goal in the third.
