180 POUNDS OF POT FOUND ON ONION TRUCK

prow­ers county» A sher­iff ’s deputy in south­east­ern Colorado found slightly more than 180 pounds of marijuana mixed in among a load of onions be­ing hauled by a trac­tor-trailer last week.

Sam Zordel, sher­iff of Prow­ers County, said the dis­cov­ery was made Dec. 1 on U.S. 287 near the Gob­blers Knob rest area, about 20 miles south of La­mar.

The deputy pulled over the truck af­ter its driver al­legedly stayed in the high­way’s pass­ing lane. Zordel said the trac­tor­trailer was headed from Brighton to Naples, Fla.
