The Great Wolf Lodge on Colorado Springs’ far north side is set to open 10 days earlier than expected.

The sprawling resort, anchored by a 311-room, all-suite hotel and a 50,000-square-foot indoor water park, will open at 4 p.m. Dec. 16.

Great Wolf is being developed by Wisconsin-based Great Wolf Resorts.

The family-themed resort is part of the InterQuest Marketplace retail center, east of Interstate 25 and InterQuest Parkway. Great Wolf purchased the partially completed Renaissance hotel that had stood idle for years, then completed it and added the water park.

Other resort amenities will include a 20,000-square-foot, indoor entertainment area with miniature golf, mini bowling, arcade games, a climbing wall and ropes course; gift shops; and eight areas for dining and drinks. Great Wolf also will have a 20,000-square-foot conference center.

The water park will be available for use only by hotel guests, but the resort’s play area and other amenities are open to the public for a fee. The public also is welcome at Great Wolf ’s restaurants.

The resort will employ about 400 people.
