STAN KROENKE BUYS WRITER SQUARE
Writer Square, a downtown office and retail complex that fronts the 16th Street Mall, has a new owner — Stan Kroenke.
A limited liability company that shares an address with The Kroenke Group’s Columbia, Mo., offices and lists Kroenke Sports & Entertainment CFO Bruce Glazer as its registered agent paid $96 million for the 179,271-square-foot complex last week, according to city records.
The seller was a joint venture between Unico Properties and LaSalle Investment Management. They paid $68.25 million for the property at 16th and Larimer streets when they purchased it in 2013, according to city records.
Kroenke, billionaire owner of the Colorado Avalanche, Denver Nuggets and Colorado Rapids, last year was part of the investment team that purchased Elitch Gardens. His Kroenke Sports & Entertainment also owns the Pepsi Center, Paramount Theatre and Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.
Nuggets and Avs owner Stan Kroenke now owns Writer Square in downtown Denver.
