AF­TER PA­TROL CARS AT­TACKED, ONE SUS­PECT IN CUS­TODY

pue­blo» Law en­force­ment of­fi­cers have one per­son in cus­tody and are seek­ing two others af­ter some­one tried to set a pair of pa­trol cars on fire dur­ing a stolen ve­hi­cle in­ves­ti­ga­tion Tues­day.

The in­ci­dent be­gan af­ter some­one in the 27000 block of U.S. 96 re­ported a stolen ve­hi­cle Tues­day evening, ac­cord­ing to the Pue­blo County Sher­iff’s Of­fice. A deputy learned the ve­hi­cle was at a home in the 3000 block of Den­ver Boule­vard. Deputies and Pue­blo po­lice of­fi­cers who went to that home found a sec­ond stolen ve­hi­cle.

While they were at the home, “a car came by and threw the ac­cel­er­ant on the ground and at­tempted to burn” the pa­trol cars, said Gayle Perez, sher­iff ’s spokes­woman. One of the pa­trol cars was dam­aged.

B clear creek county» Au­thor­i­ties are in­ves­ti­gat­ing af­ter a body was found along U.S. 6 on Wed­nes­day morn­ing near its in­ter­sec­tion with In­ter­state 70 east of Idaho Springs. The county sher­iff’s of­fice says the per­son — a male — was dis­cov­ered about 8 a.m.
