Police seek mask-wear­ing bank rob­ber dubbed “Comic Con Ban­dit”

A bank rob­ber who dons Star Wars and Mar­vel su­per­hero masks is at large, and police are seek­ing the pub­lic’s help in find­ing the so­called “Comic Con Ban­dit.”

One rob­bery hap­pened at about 4:20 p.m. on Dec. 9 at Bank of the West, 865 S. Boul­der Road in Louisville, ac­cord­ing to the FBI and Den­ver Metro Crime Stop­pers.

The rob­ber, wear­ing a mask of the Mar­vel su­per­hero Black Pan­ther, de­manded money and fled the area with a woman in a 2008 to 2010 Saturn Vue. A sec­ond rob­bery hap­pened about 4:10 p.m. on Mon­day at the UMB Bank, 8046 W. Bowles Ave. in Lit­tle­ton, in­ves­ti­ga­tors said. The rob­ber, wear­ing a Darth Vader mask, de­manded money and said he was armed, al­though a weapon was not shown. The rob­ber fled on foot. Police suspect the same man robbed both banks.
