Police seek mask-wearing bank robber dubbed “Comic Con Bandit”
A bank robber who dons Star Wars and Marvel superhero masks is at large, and police are seeking the public’s help in finding the socalled “Comic Con Bandit.”
One robbery happened at about 4:20 p.m. on Dec. 9 at Bank of the West, 865 S. Boulder Road in Louisville, according to the FBI and Denver Metro Crime Stoppers.
The robber, wearing a mask of the Marvel superhero Black Panther, demanded money and fled the area with a woman in a 2008 to 2010 Saturn Vue. A second robbery happened about 4:10 p.m. on Monday at the UMB Bank, 8046 W. Bowles Ave. in Littleton, investigators said. The robber, wearing a Darth Vader mask, demanded money and said he was armed, although a weapon was not shown. The robber fled on foot. Police suspect the same man robbed both banks.
