MOM WHO LEFT TOD­DLER IN CAR IS CHARGED

A 26-year-old mother ac­cused of leav­ing her tod­dler alone in a car overnight, in dan­ger­ous sub-zero tem­per­a­tures dur­ing a snow­storm on the same night she drank vodka, was charged Wed­nes­day Car­mon with felony

child abuse. Ni­cole Car­mon ap­peared Wed­nes­day in Adams County court and was charged with one count of child abuse caus­ing se­ri­ous bod­ily in­jury, ac­cord­ing to the District At­tor­ney’s Of­fice.

Car­mon had re­ported the boy miss­ing Satur­day morn­ing, say­ing she had left him in her ve­hi­cle overnight, but she didn’t know where it was parked.

Dozens of Thorn­ton po­lice of­fi­cers searched for the boy, find­ing him at about noon Satur­day half strapped to a car seat in her ve­hi­cle in a park­ing lot at 901 E. 120th Ave. He was rushed to a hospi­tal and treated for frost­bite and hy­pother­mia.

An ar­rest af­fi­davit says Car­mon, of West­min­ster, told of­fi­cers she had taken six shots of vodka Fri­day evening as an arc­tic storm moved into the re­gion. BBB
