WOUNDED TEEN STILL LISTED AS CRIT­I­CAL

A 15-year-old boy is in cus­tody for sus­pi­cion of first-de­gree as­sault af­ter a shoot­ing in­volv­ing an­other teen Fri­day af­ter­noon in Jef­fer­son County.

Jef­fer­son County deputies found a 14-year-old boy in­side a home suf­fer­ing from a gun­shot wound. He was taken to a hospi­tal with life-threat­en­ing in­juries.

The Jef­fer­son County Sher­iff Depart­ment said he was still in crit­i­cal con­di­tion Satur­day.

The boy in cus­tody ran from the scene, but deputies found him about 2 miles away.

The boys’ names were not re­leased. A weapon had not been re­cov­ered Fri­day night.
