First Day Hikes start the year off right

The Denver Post - - LIFE&CULTURE -

sunday. Want to get a head start on that New Year’s resolution? First Day Hikes, hosted by Colorado Parks and Wildlife, is giving Coloradans a chance to do it in the most Rocky Mounain-way possible — in nature. The hikes require a valid parks pass to participate, with a daily pass to most parks at $7 per vehicle, or the annual pass for $70. As part of the event parks will feature programs by rangers and volunteers (such as bird viewing) and many will offer refreshments and giveaways. All First Day Hikes will vary in ability levels and length, so for a full list of parks, programs and recommendations check out cpw.state.co.us/firstdayhikes. — Sara Grant
