EX-PHILLIES SKIP­PER GREEN DIES AT 82

philadel­phia» Dal­las Green, the tough-talk­ing man­ager who guided the Phillies to their first World Se­ries cham­pi­onship, has died. He was 82.

The Phillies said Green died Wed­nes­day at a Philadel­phia hos­pi­tal. He had been in poor health for years.

Green spent 62 years in base­ball as a player, man­ager, gen­eral man­ager, team pres­i­dent and other roles.

Bonds joins Gi­ants’ camp

B scotts­dale, ariz.» Barry Bonds is back in spring train­ing camp with the Gi­ants, set to spend a week work­ing on hit­ting with the team’s mi­nor­lea­guers.

The 52-year-old home run cham­pion re­ported Wed­nes­day at the Gi­ants’ com­plex. Af­ter his time in Ari­zona, Bonds will be a spe­cial ad­viser to Gi­ants CEO Larry Baer.
