Don’t fix Obamacare; nix it

The Denver Post - - OPINION - Re: ForrestMonroe,

“The Freedom Caucus blew its chance to govern,” March 28 Marc A. Thiessen column.

Marc A. Thiessen blames the conservative Freedom Caucus for the failure of Paul Ryan’s American Health Care Act. For the record, Republicans unanimously voted against Obamacare. Why then did Republican moderates attempt quick passage of a bill that offered no savings over President Barack Obama’s failed, decomposing Affordable Care Act?

Democrats authored a health care system that was sold to the public based on one misrepresentation after another. Thank goodness some courageous Republicans took a principled stand against an out- of- control health care industry. Moderates should focus their discontent on replacing Obamacare, not repairing it. And the new product must be affordable.
