boulder » Next season’s schedule for the Colorado men’s basketball team will feature an even greater instate focus than usual.
While dates and times will not be finalized for several months, the Buffaloes’ nonconference schedule is rounding into shape. Highlighting a fewnewfaces will be a long- awaited renewal of the local rivalry with the University of Denver, with the Pioneers set to visit Boulder in the programs’ first showdown in 10 years.
The Pioneers are coached by Rodney Billups, who spent four seasons on the staff ofCUcoachTadBoyle before taking the job a year ago at DU, Billups’ alma mater. The Buffs also will renew their rivalry with NorthernColorado in Boulder and host Air Force in the third game of a fouryear agreement.
CU will visit Colorado State in the final game currently under contract for the state’s premier college basketball rivalry, though CU coach Tad Boyle has previously expressed confidence the series will remain ongoing.
Also, CU will play in the Paradise Jam in the Virgin Islands in November, playing three games against a field that includes Wake Forest, Houston, Quinnipiac, Drake, Drexel, Liberty andMercer.
