Aurora po­lice are search­ing for a 20-year-old man who is wanted in con­nec­tion with a sus­pi­cious death Sun­day at a mo­tel.

The Aurora Po­lice Depart­ment seek Ar­turo Gar­cia, who is wanted on a first-de­gree mur­der war­rant, ac­cord­ing to the po­lice depart­ment’s news blog.

A woman’s body was found at 10 a.m. Sun­day in the Knights Inn Mo­tel on the 1400 block of East Sixth Av­enue. Po­lice de­scribed the cir­cum­stances sur­round­ing the woman’s death as sus­pi­cious but have not re­leased a cause of death. The vic­tim’s name will be re­leased by the Ara­pa­hoe County coro­ner’s of­fice af­ter her fam­ily has been no­ti­fied.

Bear killed af­ter break­ing into house.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife of­fi­cers eu­th­a­nized a 375 pound bear Tues­day af­ter it was caught in­side a home near Colorado Springs.

The bear spent five hours in­side a house where he was recorded open­ing a re­frig­er­a­tor in the kitchen, roam­ing a hall­way, check­ing out bed­rooms and ex­plor­ing a fam­ily room.

On its south­east re­gion Twit­ter ac­count, Colorado Parks and Wildlife said of­fi­cers tracked the bear and eu­th­a­nized it be­cause it had be­come a pub­lic threat.

Res­cuers ask hik­ers to pre­pare.

The Gazette re­ports first re­spon­ders have been called to the Man­i­tou In­cline five times over the Fourth of July week­end.

Man­i­tou Springs Fire Depart­ment spokesman the Rev. David Hunt­ing pleads with hik­ers to pre­pare for the “stren­u­ous” trek. A res­cue on the In­cline can take three to eight hours, de­pend­ing on the in­jury and lo­ca­tion, ty­ing up fire depart­ment and El Paso County Search and Res­cue re­sources.

Long­mont po­lice in­ves­ti­gate eighth ar­son case.

Long­mont po­lice be­lieve a Sun­day car fire at an apart­ment com­plex park­ing lot is con­nected to last week’s ar­son spree.

Po­lice re­ports show the fire is in the same part of the city where six other ve­hi­cles and a trash bin were set on fire June 26.

Cmdr. Joel Post said in­ves­ti­ga­tors have de­ter­mined at least three ve­hi­cles were un­locked, and the fires started in the pas­sen­ger com­part­ments and a truck’s bed. The other ve­hi­cles were too burned to de­ter­mine where the fires started.

Man sen­tenced for gang killing.

A Colorado man has been sen­tenced to 60 years in prison for his role in the death of a woman whose body was found in Wy­oming.

KMGH-TV re­ports 25year-old Michael Vas­sil was sen­tenced Mon­day for sec­ond-de­gree mur­der and con­spir­acy to com­mit first-de­gree mur­der in the Septem­ber 2015 death of 34-year-old Tera Le­wandowski of Pierce.

Fire­works cause house fire.

An Aurora man shoot­ing fire­works mor­tars over the week­end caused his house to burn, lead­ing fire of­fi­cials to warn peo­ple of the risks of shoot­ing them.

The homeowner wasn’t cited for us­ing il­le­gal fire­works, but fire in­ves­ti­ga­tors con­fis­cated about $300 worth of mor­tars.
