Hol­i­day weeks tend to see fewer big-name con­cert an­nounce­ments, in part be­cause tick­et­buy­ers are harder to reach. But a hand­ful of no­table shows still snuck onto the cal­en­dar over the last few days, mostly courtesy of Den­ver mega-pro­moter AEG Presents: In­stru­men­tal pow­er­house The Bu­dos Band, whose siz­zling Afro-soul fits neatly with its throw­back-ori­ented Dap­tones Records la­bel­mates, re­turns to Den­ver for a 16-and-up con­cert at the Theatre on Aug. 27, with opener Hanni El Khatib. Un­der­ap­pre­ci­ated com­edy ge­nius Karen Kil­gar­iff (“Mr. Show,” “Ellen”) and co-host Ge­or­gia Hard­stark will guide you through death’s door. Tick­ets went on sale last week.
