4th of July festivities can be a reminder of combat

The Denver Post - - OPINION -

Re: “For some veterans with PTSD, Fourth of July celebrations can sound like war,” July 2 Donna Bryson column.

Thank you for recent guest column on veterans and the 4th of July. Combat veterans such as myself, while honored on the 4th, are not always considered when it comes to explosions. Recently, after a particularly close skyrocket exploded near me as I was entering my home, I injured my knee ducking for cover. To all my fellow Americans, I hope you enjoyed a festive and safe 4th. Just remember that, for some, this holiday is not as festive as it once was. Craig Winter, Aurora
