Kids free FAMILY FUN: at History Colorado

The Denver Post - - LIFE & CULTURE -

For a fun-filled day that the whole family can enjoy, the Colorado History Center delivers a Wild West adventure not to be missed. Looking for art? Bierstadt’s landscape paintings, Taos’ art colony’s vivid Southwester tableaus, and Remington’s bronzes contextualize the best of Colorado past for connoisseurs in the present. The exhibit “Backstory: Western American Art in Context” teaches history through artifacts and visual media, including nearly 50 priceless works from the Denver Art Museum. In “Destination Colorado,” an interactive 5,000-square-foot exhibit uses guides to make the homesteaded town of Keota come to life. 10 a.m.-5 p.m., free for kids 12 and under, 12 and older $10-12. 1200 Broadway. Info at historycoloradocen or 303-447-8679. — Graham Ambrose
