Adams County soft­ball coach charged with sex as­sault of 15-year-old girl

A soft­ball coach in Adams County has been charged with felony sex­ual as­sault of a child.

Ja­son Lee Davis, 43, is ac­cused of sex­u­ally as­sault­ing a 15-year-old girl who played on his team, ac­cord­ing to the Adams County Dis­trict At­tor­ney’s Of­fice.

Davis has been charged with sex­ual as­sault on a child by a per­son in a po­si­tion of trust.

He was ad­vised of the charges against him Fri­day in court.

The as­sault al­legedly hap­pened on April 2 at the Mar­garet Car­pen­ter Re­cre­ation Cen­ter in Thorn­ton.

Davis was a coach with the Broom­field Thun­der soft­ball team.

A pre­lim­i­nary hear­ing is sched­uled for 2:30 p.m. Aug. 25.
