Sex offender sentenced for taking lewd photo
A man who thrust a camera under a woman’s skirt at a Broncos game as she waited for her husband outside a bathroom was sentenced Monday to eight years of intensive sex offender probation and 30 days in jail.
Jacob Magee, 35, pleaded guilty in April to one count of invasion of privacy for sexual gratification, a Class 6 felony.
Magee was already a registered sex offender when the incident took place in October. The sentence requires him to register as a sex offender for life. He received credit for three days in jail he already has served.
The woman was waiting for her husband when she felt her skirt move, “and looked down to see the suspect pulling his camera phone from under her skirt,” according to a police report.
Magee, who has 9-yearold twins, told Judge William D. Robbins that he was “truly sorry” for his actions.
“All I want to do is be there for my wife and kids,” he said. “We love each other very much.”
But the judge questioned that sentiment.
“You just told me how much you and your family love each other,” Robbins said. “You haven’t commented on this woman and the invasion of her privacy.”
Investigators identified Magee after watching video footage of the incident that showed a picture being taken by a man with a blade-type prosthetic leg who was wearing a Von Miller jersey.
