Buf­faloes fill non­con­fer­ence sched­ule; home opener on Nov. 10

The Uni­ver­sity of Colorado men’s bas­ket­ball team has fi­nal­ized its non­con­fer­ence sched­ule, high­lighted by Big East and Big Ten op­po­nents.

CU, which fin­ished 19-15 (8-10 Pac-12) last sea­son with a first-round NIT de­feat, opens the year host­ing a pair of Front Range op­po­nents — North­ern Colorado on Nov. 10 and Den­ver on Nov. 14 — in ad­di­tion to Air Force on Nov. 26 and a road trip to Colorado State on Dec. 2.

The Buf­faloes will com­plete a home-and­home agree­ment with Xavier, which reached the NCAA tour­na­ment’s sec­ond round last sea­son, on Dec. 9 in Cincin­nati. CU de­feated then-ranked No. 13 Xavier, 6866, in Boul­der last win­ter.

CU also trav­els to play Iowa on Dec. 22 at the San­ford Pen­tagon in Sioux Falls, S.D. The Hawkeyes ad­vanced to the NIT’s sec­ond round a year ago.

More CU non­con­fer­ence matchups: vs. Quin­nip­iac on Nov. 17 (Par­adise Jam); vs. Wake For­est/Drake on Nov. 18 (Par­adise Jam); vs. New Mex­ico on Dec. 6; vs. San Diego on Dec. 12; vs. South Dakota State on Dec. 15.

Pac-12 play be­gins on Dec. 28 with spe­cific sched­ule dates ex­pected later this sum­mer.
