Buffaloes fill nonconference schedule; home opener on Nov. 10
The University of Colorado men’s basketball team has finalized its nonconference schedule, highlighted by Big East and Big Ten opponents.
CU, which finished 19-15 (8-10 Pac-12) last season with a first-round NIT defeat, opens the year hosting a pair of Front Range opponents — Northern Colorado on Nov. 10 and Denver on Nov. 14 — in addition to Air Force on Nov. 26 and a road trip to Colorado State on Dec. 2.
The Buffaloes will complete a home-andhome agreement with Xavier, which reached the NCAA tournament’s second round last season, on Dec. 9 in Cincinnati. CU defeated then-ranked No. 13 Xavier, 6866, in Boulder last winter.
CU also travels to play Iowa on Dec. 22 at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D. The Hawkeyes advanced to the NIT’s second round a year ago.
More CU nonconference matchups: vs. Quinnipiac on Nov. 17 (Paradise Jam); vs. Wake Forest/Drake on Nov. 18 (Paradise Jam); vs. New Mexico on Dec. 6; vs. San Diego on Dec. 12; vs. South Dakota State on Dec. 15.
Pac-12 play begins on Dec. 28 with specific schedule dates expected later this summer.
