Grimaldi, Gra­ham sign 1-year deals

The Avalanche signed for­ward Rocco Grimaldi and de­fense­man Jesse Gra­ham to one-year deals, the team an­nounced Wed­nes­day.

Grimaldi, drafted 33rd over­all in the 2011 NHL en­try draft, was ac­quired by Colorado on June 23, 2016. He ap­peared in four games for the Avs last sea­son and recorded one as­sist. The 24-year-old spent the ma­jor­ity of 2016-17 with the AHL’s San An­to­nio Ram­page, where he scored 31 goals (tied for third in the league) in 72 games. He be­came the fifth 30-goal scorer in Ram­page his­tory. He has 31 ca­reer NHL ap­pear­ances be­tween the Avs and Florida Pan­thers.

Gra­ham, 23, spent last sea­son in the New York Is­lan­ders’ sys­tem, suit­ing up for the AHL’s Bridge­port Sound Tigers and the ECHL’s Mis­souri Mav­er­icks. He had nine points (two goals, seven as­sists) in 19 games with the Sound Tigers and 25 points (six goals, 19 as­sists) in 24 ap­pear­ances with the Mav­er­icks. He was se­lected in the sixth round (155th over­all) of the 2012 NHL en­try draft.
