FAM­ILY FUN: Li­mon Her­itage Fes­ti­val

FRI­DAY-SATUR­DAY. Es­cape the city and head east to the cen­tral Plains, where on Fri­day the 100th an­niver­sary of the Kit Car­son County Fair and Bull­fight­ing Event will give fam­i­lies a full evening of rope-whip­ping fun. At 8 p.m., the rodeo be­gins at the Kit Car­son County Fair­grounds. Then the Her­itage Fes­ti­val kicks off at 9 a.m. on Satur­day with a Ceme­tery Walk. Fes­ti­val­go­ers can en­joy home­made pie, a quilt show, a bake sale, An­nie Oak­ley and Buf­falo Bill mu­seum ex­hibits, lost arts demon­stra­tions, a pony pa­rade, wagon rides, face-paint­ing and a BBQ lunch at noon.
