FAMILY FUN: Limon Heritage Festival
FRIDAY-SATURDAY. Escape the city and head east to the central Plains, where on Friday the 100th anniversary of the Kit Carson County Fair and Bullfighting Event will give families a full evening of rope-whipping fun. At 8 p.m., the rodeo begins at the Kit Carson County Fairgrounds. Then the Heritage Festival kicks off at 9 a.m. on Saturday with a Cemetery Walk. Festivalgoers can enjoy homemade pie, a quilt show, a bake sale, Annie Oakley and Buffalo Bill museum exhibits, lost arts demonstrations, a pony parade, wagon rides, face-painting and a BBQ lunch at noon.
