Colorado DMV of­fices hit by tech is­sue; de­vice evac­u­ates Springs of­fice

Sev­eral Colorado Di­vi­sion of Mo­tor Ve­hi­cles of­fices ex­pe­ri­enced tech­ni­cal is­sues Fri­day af­ter­noon and were un­able to is­sue driver li­censes.

DMV staff was work­ing with “part­ners” to re­solve the com­puter is­sues, ac­cord­ing to a news re­lease. The tech­ni­cal prob­lems were in­ter­mit­tent, and not all of­fices ex­pe­ri­enced is­sues.

On­line ser­vices were not im­pacted and were op­er­at­ing rou­tinely on Fri­day.

Mean­while, a DMV of­fice in Colorado Springs was evac­u­ated Fri­day af­ter­noon be­cause of a sus­pected ex­plo­sive de­vice. Bomb squad in­ves­ti­ga­tors wrapped up about 6:45 p.m. say­ing the build­ing was clear.
