Why did Obama wait so long to allow transgender in military?

The Denver Post - - OPINION - Re: Robert E. Forman,

“Trump’s hateful transgender ban,” July 28 editorial.

According to The Denver Post’s editorial, President Donald Trump is “bigoted” and “hateful” for banning transgender people from serving in the military — a policy that is officially one year old and was unilaterally instituted by a president who was in the final year of his presidency and had absolutely nothing to lose. Give Trump credit for not waiting seven years to do what he thinks is right.

Former President Barack Obama waited seven years before making the change he felt was right. If Obama’s policy had already been in effect for seven years and not just the one, would things be different?

So which president was and is the most hateful? The one who didn’t have the guts to push that particular agenda in his first year, or his second, or his third, or his fourth, fifth, sixth or seventh? Or the one who undid a last-minute thing halfway through his very first year?
