LONGMONT MAN DIES DURING CAMPING TRIP
COUNTY» Rescuers BOULDER applied CPR but couldn’t revive a 26-year-old Longmont man who collapsed while on a camping trip early Sunday.
The man was camping with two friends in the Winiger Ridge camping area near Gross Reservoir. About 1 a.m. he “began suffering an apparent medical emergency,” according to a sheriff’s office news release.
His friends drove him up Magnolia Drive to the Peak to Peak Highway, where they were able to get cellphone service, and called 911. Boulder County sheriff’s deputies, a Nederland police officer and the Nederland Fire Department responded. Resuscitation efforts were performed for more than 20 minutes, but the victim could not be revived.
