COUNTY» Rescuers BOUL­DER ap­plied CPR but couldn’t re­vive a 26-year-old Long­mont man who col­lapsed while on a camp­ing trip early Sun­day.

The man was camp­ing with two friends in the Winiger Ridge camp­ing area near Gross Reser­voir. About 1 a.m. he “be­gan suf­fer­ing an ap­par­ent med­i­cal emer­gency,” ac­cord­ing to a sher­iff’s of­fice news re­lease.

His friends drove him up Mag­no­lia Drive to the Peak to Peak High­way, where they were able to get cell­phone ser­vice, and called 911. Boul­der County sher­iff’s deputies, a Ned­er­land po­lice of­fi­cer and the Ned­er­land Fire De­part­ment re­sponded. Re­sus­ci­ta­tion ef­forts were per­formed for more than 20 min­utes, but the vic­tim could not be re­vived.
