CUL­TURE: Cel­e­brat­ing lo­cal Latina art

THROUGH JAN­UARY. In cel­e­bra­tion of Colorado Latina artists, Museo de las Amer­i­cas will present its new fall ex­hi­bi­tion “Las (H)adas,” fol­low­ing an open­ing re­cep­tion this week. The show­ing, run­ning through Jan. 14, was de­signed to serve as a plat­form en­cour­ag­ing di­a­logue about (and among) women of color and is­sues of iden­tity. The large-scale in­stal­la­tions in­clude one by Colorado Coali­tion Against Do­mes­tic Vi­o­lence that will fea­ture 1,000 but­ter­flies with au­dio that car­ries the voices of women who have suf­fered from do­mes­tic vi­o­lence — and per­se­vered. The mu­seum (861 Santa Fe Drive) will also fea­ture var­i­ous events around the in­stal­la­tions, which can be found at museo.org. Gen­eral ad­mis­sion is $5, $3 for stu­dents and se­niors.
