FEDEX, J.C. PEN­NEY SEEK THOU­SANDS OF SEA­SONAL WORKERS

Sea­sonal hir­ing is be­gin­ning in earnest as two more em­ploy­ers an­nounced Thurs­day they will be tak­ing on hun­dreds of workers in Colorado through the holidays.

FedEx said it will be hir­ing 55,000 sea­sonal po­si­tions na­tion­wide, in­clud­ing 1,500 at FedEx Ground in Den­ver. The com­pany is also tak­ing on an ad­di­tional 75 per­ma­nent po­si­tions in Den­ver.

“FedEx of­fers its team mem­bers the chance to grow and reach their full po­ten­tial thanks to ex­cel­lent train­ing, af­ford­able med­i­cal ben­e­fits and a strong ‘pro­mote from within’ cul­ture,” said Scott Cuff­man, Den­ver se­nior re­gional man­ager for FedEx.

J.C. Pen­ney also an­nounced its sea­sonal hir­ing Thurs­day. The re­tailer will be seek­ing to fill 39,000 posts across the coun­try, in­clud­ing 700 in Colorado. Ear­lier this week, Ama­zon said it would need to hire more than 2,000 workers in Colorado to help fill and deliver hol­i­day or­ders at the on­line re­tail gi­ant’s ful­fill­ment cen­ters in Aurora and Thornton and at de­liv­ery fa­cil­i­ties across the metro area.
