CU MU­SIC STU­DENTS CARNEGIE­BOUND

For the sec­ond time since 2016, the win­ners of the Uni­ver­sity of Colorado’s mu­sic­per­for­mance com­pe­ti­tions will play Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York City. The 8 p.m. show on Nov. 5 re­wards CU’s Col­lege of Mu­sic win­ners with a spot on the pres­ti­gious stage, along with grad­u­ate quar­tet­in­res­i­dence Ajax Quar­tet.

“For any mu­si­cian or ac­tress as­pir­ing as they grow up, that’s kind of the known dream,” said Ali­cia Jo Baker, an alumna of the Col­lege of Mu­sic who will per­form at Carnegie next month, in a press state­ment. “And to rep­re­sent CU Boul­der is re­ally ex­cit­ing.”

The pro­gram will fea­ture both cham­ber and solo works span­ning “clas­si­cal main­stays and con­tem­po­rary pieces, in­clud­ing an orig­i­nal com­po­si­tion by CU Boul­der alum­nus Conor Ab­bot
