Historical Society to sponsor Defender’s Day scavenger hunt
The Dundalk-Patapsco Neck Historical Society and Museum is sponsoring a scavenger hunt this year as a part of their Battle of North Point reenactment and commemoration on Sunday, Sept. 4, 2016.
First prize is $100 or four Orioles tickets. Second and third prizes will also be awarded.
Minors under the age of 18 are eligible to participate.
Participants must find a code word on all nine of the wooden soldiers at the listed locations. The code word — which will be the name of an American who died at the Battle of North Point — will be on a pale blue box on the framed proclamation hanging on each soldier.
Submit your entry to the Historical Society at 4 Center Place (open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays). Entries must be received by Friday, Sept. 2.
Winning entries will be drawn during the event on Sept. 4.
Call the Historical Society at 410-284-2331 for any questions.
