His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety to spon­sor De­fender’s Day scav­enger hunt

The Dun­dalk-Pat­ap­sco Neck His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety and Mu­seum is spon­sor­ing a scav­enger hunt this year as a part of their Bat­tle of North Point reen­act­ment and com­mem­o­ra­tion on Sun­day, Sept. 4, 2016.

First prize is $100 or four Ori­oles tick­ets. Sec­ond and third prizes will also be awarded.

Mi­nors un­der the age of 18 are el­i­gi­ble to par­tic­i­pate.

Par­tic­i­pants must find a code word on all nine of the wooden soldiers at the listed lo­ca­tions. The code word — which will be the name of an Amer­i­can who died at the Bat­tle of North Point — will be on a pale blue box on the framed procla­ma­tion hang­ing on each sol­dier.

Sub­mit your en­try to the His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety at 4 Cen­ter Place (open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on week­days). En­tries must be re­ceived by Fri­day, Sept. 2.

Win­ning en­tries will be drawn dur­ing the event on Sept. 4.
