Jerry’s Children’s Fund seeks Christmas contributions
Goods and monetary donations are now being collected for Jerry’s Children’s Fund for this year’s Christmas drive. For the past 10 years, the Children’s Fund has delivered Christmas contributions to families in need across the area.
Last year, Jerry’s Children’s Fund provided gifts for 152 children, each receiving 10 to 20 gifts each.
Jerry Bathory, founder of Jerry’s Children’s Fund, works with school guidance counselors and social workers to determine which children are in need. Bathory must receive all donations by the first week of December in order to deliver to the schools.
The following items that are needed for children age 3 to mid-teens: coloring books, crayons, paint books, colored pencils, sketch pads, arts and crafts material, youth books, toy wrestlers and soldiers (including GI Joe), Spiderman, Superman, lotions, cosmetics, nail polish, cosmetic jewelry, board games, dolls (including Barbie, Monster High, baby dolls and Sponge Bob Square Pants), batteries, hair accessories, musical items, footballs, baseballs, G-rated DVDs, learning items, new stuffed animals, puzzles, Legos, Dora, Star Wars, stuffed animals, Ravens’ and Orioles’ items and action figures.
New winter hats and gloves and gift cards for Walmart and Five Below are also needed.
